HMF 2012 - Revived Fashion Show, a set on Flickr.

Sheng Moua right up there produced the first fashion show I ever got to participate in as a photographer.
The Revived Fashion Show was last weekend at the Hmong Music Festival in Fresno, CA and it was a great experience. I had a general idea of what to expect if I was going to be given the opportunity to play photographer at the event. Luckily, I was given the chance to shoot with the other photographers for the event. I got to meet a couple cool photographers and their info and advice was great.
My main concern was my gear, as I was limited to a high ISO and a lens that was just enough at the long end of it’s range. I would post all the photos here, but this time I think I’ll just let those who want to see click the link at the top or any other link that leads to my flickr. I’ll throw a couple samples down below but please please stop by the flickr and take a look! Thanks!

^^^ This last one is just more for my entertainment. This is Phillip So and he was awesome enough to share his strobes that he setup for the show with me. This photo though was the moment a clothing rack crashed into one of his light stands almost knocking it down.
Anyway, yeah go give the flickr a look and maybe let me know what you think! Take care!

Post HMF Fashion Show I went out with the Chico girls and took some photos by the pool showing off some of Stacey Lo’s “Embrace” collection.

It was great the place was pretty dead so we had the area all to ourselves. The girls gave that vibe like they ran the place.

Lisa here enjoying the sun during the Fresno afternoon. Love this one.

Can’t really go wrong relaxing poolside. Max and the other girls enjoyed the downtime after finishing up their part in HMF.

This time gave the girls time to just relax and talk.

Liz relaxing just like the others. I loved all the girls hair and makeup. It fit with the pin-up vibe of Stacey’s collection. Plus I’m a sucker for pin-up stuff LOL. (A little shallow with the DoF but I still like it.)

After hanging out by the pool the girls wanted a little more comfortable seat, so they all grabbed a chair and continued to relax. Liz looks amazing here, the pose, the relaxed expression, the legs… This is probably my favorite shot from the set. I personally can’t find anything with it I don’t like (maybe a little bias but so what!)

They all grabbed a chair, and just enjoyed the sun. Max here just laying out talking with the other girls.

This one reminds me of a old magazine cover amiright?! Another one of my top faves from this set.

I like how I actually left Max’s heels in the picture. With her fun pose and expression I feel the heels still keeps things classy class, no?

Had to end it with the way it started. The girls showing that they “run this mutha” lol. All in all Stacey’s collection looked great. I loved having the chance to shoot these beautiful ladies and it was a lot of fun. Definitely a new experience for me and I can’t wait to do more.

* As usual, please check out my Flickr page for all the high-res versions of these photos plus more! Clicking on any of the photos should lead you there, and there’s always the link on the top left of the page here. Thanks for checking this out!

Duracoat’d S&W M&P9c on Flickr.
Latest duracoat job I just finished. I realized I posted this on Instagram (@CaselxASD) but never posted the high-res I promised, so here it is! The frame on my brother’s Smith & Wesson Military & Police 9mm Compact handgun is wearing “Tactical Extreme Gray” Duracoat. The Streamlight TLR-3 weapon light was also duracoated to match. All in all I think its an AWESOME combo with the orginal black parts of both the M&P and the TLR-3 Light. Enjoy!

Flats of the mountain. on Flickr.
Welcome to Table Mountain! Out in Oroville, CA. But it looks like a normal grassland right? Realatively flat lands right? But this is on top of the mountain! Well maybe more like a giant plateau. You can see pretty far when you get on top of this place! It’s pretty awesome to see first hand and I’m glad Liz took me to see it. :]

Here’s another shot really showing just how flat the top of this place is! It was pretty awesome to see fields of flowers like this and the weather was great when we went up there. You feel like you’re just at a meadow, but then you remember you just drove up a handful of winding roads and switchbacks and now at the top of this giant plateau. With the weather so nice me and Liz decided to hike a little bit so she could show me more of this place.

So we made our way hiking down some of the lightly worn trails and on our way down we ran into a bunch of these things! As you can see in the first picture there aren’t too many trees at the top of Table Mountain, and wherever there was a tree these lovely animals were hogging all the shade! It was pretty awesome because I was never able to get as close to some as I was that day. I did have a slight scare when I decided to have a staring contest with one and it started to step up to me… sketchy. Needless to say I lost that one. xP

After walking past them we followed this little stream making it’s way down the mountain as me and Liz continued to snap away taking pictures. We split up a little bit because I only had my 85mm and needed to back up some for a wide shot. I caught Liz here taking her pictures without her noticing me at first. It was pretty hot out today and it shows with a bunch of these little streams looking like they were on the verge of drying up! I wanted to get artsy with the postprocessing on some as you can see with the last two in B&W (Did anyone notice I’ve been digging contrast and vignettes a whole bunch recently? :P).

Then Liz hopped across the main mini stream and noticed where I was.. High up on a buncha rocks ways away. We stood there awhile figuring out which way we would go next then made our way back to each other.

Around the rock there were a few flowers, but there are flowers scattered ALL OVER the mountain! Liz mentioned if you come in the right time in spring its flooded with flowers! I’m sure it looks awesome! But, anyway! I noticed I had a little homie flying around doing it’s thang and tried to catch a few pictures. It was hopping from flower to flower until it finally settled on one for a few seconds and I managed to grab a couple pics.

Now you know I gotta have my random silly picture of Liz whenever we go taking pictures! Liz mentioned that the stream leads to a pretty monster waterfall so we kept going until we hit it. The picture here shows the smaller fall with the big one righttt behind me. Sadly I don’t have a picture of it (At least not yet…) but anyway Liz and I were on some sketchy rocks taking pictures and I got this shot of her as she stood up and turned around. So silly :]

Then we came across THESE! Beautiful California Golden Poppies! There was a bunch of them by the trail as we started to head down the trail, and we had to stop! I don’t know about other people, but I rarely get a chance to see our state’s beautiful flower so I enjoyed taking a few shots of these. They look amazing in person.

Here’s a close up of these beautiful poppies. The color is just so bright and vibrant :P At this point we headed down and hiked a bit more just talking and enjoying the scene. I put the camera away for the most part and enjoyed the rest of the day. Really glad Liz and I were able to check this place out, and I definitely wanna come back when there’s even more flower out and about! Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.

Don't think they wanna share the shade...

AR-15 Build Update! on Flickr.
Sup sup sup Tumblr! A real AR-15 update for once!! How does it look?! So last post I made, I mentioned everything going on with the AR-15 and here’s a better update!
*Lower COMPLETE:- Duracoated in “Tactical Coyote Brown” and “Goddess Purple”- All Duracoated parts originally black- Spike’s Tactical “Pirate” Lower- Spike’s Tactical Trigger Guard- Palmetto State Armory LPK with KNS Pins & JP “Yellow” Springs- B.A.D. A.S.S. (Ambi Safety Selector)- Magpul B.A.D Lever- Magpul MIAD Grip- Magpul STR Stock

Remember this? So this is how we started.. and here’s how she sits now…
So sexy amiright? haha. As you may have read (if you read any of the text :P) or already seen, there are some parts duracoated in “Goddess Purple” which is close to the shade of purple I had in mind when I decided to do this. Here’s a little close up of the purple details…

Another close-up! This time of the Magpul STR Stock which I have only seen in black. Love the little black accent pieces that I didn’t duracoat because of they are rubber and I figured it wouldn’t stick…

So there you have it! My baby is coming along nicely! As I was doing prep for the AR-15 I decided that since I only have one other gun that they should match! So I went ahead and did the trusty FNP-9 in the same “Tactical Coyote Brown”…

But before I show a closer shot of that I figured I’d put up this classic shot of the FNP. So, you have that before up there, and how she sits now…

And here it is!!! Was trying to get as close to the original shot above :P Almost identical amiright?! Loving the stainless and Coyote Brown combo… not something you see everyday, even in terms of two tone stuff.
So there you have it a full on update finally for my tumblr folks with a buncha pictures!! The duracoat went pretty smoothly, but it kills airbrushes clogging them up. Thank goodness I only go with cheapy Harbor Freight Tools airbrushes. It’s holding up pretty well, but I do have some chipping here and there. It’s most likely because I reassembled the guns to quickly and didn’t give them enough time to cure… They claim it’s okay to reassemble in 24 hours… I shoulda waited a few days like I did before messing with any of the purple pieces. Hopefully they hold up, but only time will tell, and I’ll definitely keep track of that!

Update?

Sup Tumblr? I’ve disappeared once again… haha no surprise there right? But! I have been taking pictures of my things like mail calls with at least my iPhone, and I plan to post them up soon! School’s been really stressing me so I put off on other things.

Anyway!! Update on the AR-15 Build:

*Everything is almost here!
*Goddess Purple Duracoat is HERE!
*Coyote Brown Duracoat is on the wayyyyyy!
*ALL parts to be Duracoated in Purple DONE!
*Once Duracoated I start assembly

Really excited to see this all come together, but kinda upset with myself I didn’t bring you all along the ride. You’ll get a timeline of it though just not as it was all done. Okay that’s about it for the update. I will also be bringing my trusty XTi around more often as the weather clears up (raining now -____-). At least I hope I will. kkthxbai.

damnitalexandra asked: Uhmm, hi, got some links from where I could download the tweaks you made to your desktop? :D

Yeahhhh! No Problem! Ummmm

- For the dock you could use ObjectDock or RocketDock
*I use ObjectdDock and it has an option to hide the startmenu/taskbar but if you go with rocketdock I’m sure a google search to hide it will come up with other ways.
*I just chose any dock and set the transparency to 100% to just have icons floating.

- Everything else on the desktop are put there using Rainmeter.
*Under “Discover” on the Rainmeter site is a link to their Deviantart Group which is where I got all the different skins for the Rainmeter stuff.
**My Post has the list of all the different Rainmeter items I used.

-Lastly the icons are “Token” Icons by brsev on Deviantart

Hope that helps! Sorry if it took awhile lol.

AR-15 Mail Call #1 on Flickr.
Wuddup Tumblr?! Always disappearing on you. It’s all good tho, because we are like best buddies… No matter how long it’s been when we get back together good things be happening! Haha! Anyway time for another photo dump! Late mail call! Like a month late mail call. So for the few that follow me, you know I’m building a AR-15 this year, and in the box we have up there are pieces to help me complete that goal. Shout out to Joe Bob Outfitters! Prepare for a buncha pics of what wonders we have inside!

BUT! Before we get inside the box check out what the folks at Joe Bobs did for me! Hilarious!! Love that they were willing to play along with my random requests.

Speaking of, here’s the random request I made which I feel they handled quite well. Don’t you think?

First things first, they sent along this sweet shirt laid out on top of all my parts. Looks great and fits great! Can’t beat free swag!

What was that? Free swag you say? But wait, there’s more!! Stickerssssssss! Those that know me know I love my decals and stickers. Definitely gonna slap one on the door and save one for the AR-15 case. Okay, okay, the parts! The real reason for this post…

Magpul! Gonna be going with a mid-length gas system with my AR-15, and wanted to go with a simple-ish build for starters. So, what better than Magpul MOE stuff right?

Oh did say Magpul? Well here’s more! Magpul VFG or MFG depending on which way you want call it. This grip will of course be attached to the handguard above it. Feels good from what I can tell, won’t know until everything comes together…. Ohhhh when things come together… *drools*

Magpul! Magpul! MAGPUL! Does it ever end?! Well this one might not go on the rifle right away. I know some don’t like the Magpul BUIS, and I’m having my second thoughts, but whenever optics get mounted this will probably go on with them. Gonna pick up a fixed rear sight to go with the planned A2 front sight post I plan on going with. (Thinkin’ Di-Optic Troy Rear… yeah?)

Okay, the Magpul is done… for now >:D Since I got a Spike’s lower I figured I should have SOME other Spike’s Tactical parts instead of ALLLLLL Magpul. The AR-15 is basically gonna be Spike’s, Magpul, and PSA for those interested. Not much to say about this thing besides it has a pretty cool spider logo on it!

Last but not least, JP Precision Yellow trigger springs. Gonna go with a standard LPK but Joe Bob mentions these so much I HAD to try it out. Lighter pull is always good in my book! Well, there is a limit to that… (under 3 lbs?! D: scares me still) but I won’t be getting to that limit anytime soon.

Well there you have it! Over 10 pictures in one post!! :D A bunch of random parts that I can’t really put together until I get the main organs like the upper and the LPK for the lower. The build is still exciting.. for me at least! I enjoy seeing these parts stacking up waiting to mesh together to make something wonderful… a firearm! LOL! Stay tuned as more mail calls are definitely around the corner! Hopefully it doesn’t take the WHOLE year to get everything up and running. Once again shout out to Joe Bob Outfitter’s (www.JoeBobOutfitters.com) Great people over there and great prices!!
*As always click the pics to head to my flickr, because you know… Sometimes Tumblr doesn’t do them justice! :D Enjoy!

So, I’m a couple days late but here we goooooo. Got a little HDR happy with these haha. Had a little trip up north last friday. The photo above is basically how we ended the day, back at Horseshoe Lake. The sunset looks great over there! But, how did it start?

We hung out doing usual randoms then we went out to eat! DENNY’S! however… as sad as it is I didn’t pull the camera out til we got over here in the above photo. Liz mentioned a Dharma Center in Chico so we set out looking for it. Turns out it was by the little league fields we been around before. We found it but it didn’t interest us as much as we thought. We decided instead to just take a little walk.

While we walked, we both took this chance to start snapping away. Looks like Liz is getting better with her S95. It’s only a matter of time before she pairs it with that artistic eye just right. Can’t wait!

Then Liz caught a glimpse of a field in the distance… but it was way too deep into private property. Regardless us being the rebels we are, well kinda rebels… we stepped a little bit onto some of this private land and I took a picture of what we thing is an abandon house. Figured out that there was no way of reaching where we wanted to go so gave up and headed back.

It wasn’t until sunset that my camera came back out. Decided the best place to check out the sunset was where we got to see it last, Horseshoe Lake. It was looking as beautiful as ever. We weren’t the only to think so the park was pretty packed, from families walking enjoying the view, to bikes riding down Monkeyface Rock. Also in the distance we heard folks singing from a top the rock.

We hung around til after the sun set behind the hills and for a little while more. The colors were amazing. All it all a great visit up north as always… Can’t wait til I get back :]
*As usual click the pics to head to the flickr. Tumblr doesn’t always do them justice, enjoy!

So, I’m a couple days late but here we goooooo. Got a little HDR happy with these haha. Had a little trip up north last friday. The photo above is basically how we ended the day, back at Horseshoe Lake. The sunset looks great over there! But, how did it start?

Big Tree by the Dharma Center.
